Ratchet Strap Technical Visualization
This project focuses on a high-fidelity 3D visualization of a heavy-duty green ratchet strap. The animation serves as a technical product showcase, utilising wide-angle views and macro camera movements to isolate the mechanical assembly. The visual style balances photorealism with clean technical aesthetics to emphasize durability and engineering precision.
Objective
To create a technically accurate visual demonstration of the ratchet mechanism. The primary goal was to clearly communicate the aesthetics and durability to potential buyers and engineering teams.
Process
I collaborated with the client to translate their technical requirements into a CGI
Asset Preparation: Cleaned and optimized the CAD data to ensure the topology supported extreme close-ups.
Texturing: Developed realistic shaders for the steel components and a complex woven fabric for the green nylon webbing to highlight material quality.
Animation: Produced simple camera motions to highlight each component in a slow sweeping motion
Outcome
The final deliverable is a 3D visualization that provides a clear view of the product. The asset can now be used in a digital marketing pipeline and technical documentation to reduce support queries..
